The semiconductor market continued tightening in April 2026, with manufacturers across analog IC, automotive MCU, memory, CPU and foundry capacity announcing additional price increases and lead time extensions. While AI demand is often associated with GPU, recent market developments show the pressure is increasingly spreading across broader semiconductor categories.

Every month, Ample Solutions tracks manufacturer updates, pricing movements, lead time changes, and end-market developments across the global electronic component supply chain. Here’s what stood out this April.

Analog and Power ICs Continue Tightening

Texas Instruments implemented a second-round price increase ranging from 15% to 85% across selected industrial and automotive products, while Analog Devices extended lead times to as long as 39 weeks.

The latest developments suggest that AI infrastructure demand is now affecting broader analog and power semiconductor supply.

Automotive MCU and Power Device Pressure Remains

Infineon automotive IGBT and SiC prices rose 10%–20%, while NXP automotive MCU lead times continued exceeding 40 weeks. STMicroelectronics also reported automotive MCU lead times extending to 36–40 weeks despite improvements in some general-purpose MCU supply.

Automotive-grade components remain one of the tightest areas in the semiconductor market.

HBM Demand Continues Reshaping Memory Allocation

Samsung expects DRAM prices to rise another 30% in Q2, while SK Hynix reported fully sold-out HBM capacity. Micron also announced additional HBM and DRAM capacity expansion plans, reflecting continued AI server demand growth.

As more wafer allocation shifts toward AI-related memory products, broader memory supply pressure remains an area to monitor.

Capacity and Lead Time Pressure Extend Across the Market

Intel server CPU prices rose 10%–20%, with lead times extending to around six months. At the same time, UMC announced additional 8-inch wafer price increases, while TSMC confirmed plans to gradually phase out selected 8-inch production lines by 2027.

These developments indicate that both advanced node and mature node capacity remain under pressure.
